Alimiyya Programme

The Alimiyya Programme is a traditional course taught in various institutes across the Muslim world, it covers the Islamic Sciences giving a comprehensive understanding and insight into Islamic scholarship. The course is taught in the English medium whilst giving much emphasis on classical Arabic, thus allowing the student to understand authentic knowledge with its contemporary application and relevance in the modern world. Students will use their learned Arabic language skills to directly access the Qur’anic language as well Hadith and classisical Islamic works, It will give the student an in-depth insight into Islamic Theology and the Islamic legal/social structure.

This course has been structured such that it is in-line with and equivalent to a British degree.

Currently we have the Alimiyya Programme available for sisters in full or part time

The Alimiyya programme will cover an in depth study of classical subjects such as:

ACCREDITED QUALIFICATIONS & CAREER ROUTES INTEGRATED WITH THE FULL TIME ‘ALIMIYYA

Jamia Al Rawda is a traditional Islamic seminary of higher education specialising in the Dars Nizami ‘Alimiyya curriculum known for its emphasis on tarbiyya and spirituality. At Al Rawda we believe it is a priority for our students to be well grounded in their faith and be proud of their identity and the heritage of Islamic traditional scholarship. We also believe that with knowledge comes the responsibility to lead, teach, care and guide the community and make a positive contribution to the society they reside in.
’Alim/’Alimahs should be able to pursue careers especially in the education, social and care sectors as these are the areas where they would be able to make a maximum contribution to society, and their skills would be put to the most effective use. Unfortunately the Dars Nizami ‘Alimiyya qualification is not recognised in the secular education system in the west, except in a few universities, but this is only to study a Masters in Islamic Studies etc. This gives very limited career prospects and hinders access to higher education thus many ’Alimiyya graduates have to start over by doing a completely new degree to pursue professional specialisation in.
Al Rawda has been working for a number of years to come to a solution in this regard, as we do not foresee the Dars Nizami being accredited in the near future without losing its essence and traditional values. Therefore, we have been pursuing an alternative route and alhamdulillah we are pleased to announce that Al Rawda is now registered to deliver accredited, internationally recognised qualifications with two career routes, leading up to a foundation degree level alongside the five year ‘Alimiyya in a safe, single gender and Islamic environment without compromising the values, the heritage and essence of the Dars Nizami programme. These qualifications are run internally and are integrated into the five year programme and not dependent on the delivery of external universities. Also the qualifications are achieved at a fraction of the cost of normal university fees and does not require any student finance nor loans.
